What is a lukewarm Christian? A lukewarm Christian is someone who claims to be a follower of Christ but still lives like the world. Here are 10 signs of a lukewarm Christian.

1. 미지근한 크리스천은 하나님의 말씀에 타협합니다. A lukewarm Christian compromises with the word of God

미지근한 사람들은 진리에 대해 말하는 것을 두려워합니다. 사람들이 그들을 싫어하거나 거절할까봐서죠. 미지근한 크리스천들은 특정한 주제에 대해 침묵하려고 하는데요. 그들이 반격을 당할 것을 알기 때문이죠. 하지만 그리스도를 믿는 사람들로서, 우리는 하나님의 말씀하시는 것에 굳게 지켜야 하며, 우리는 성경을 믿어야 합니다. 

So lukewarms are often afraid of speaking the truth in fear of being rejected or being unliked. Lukewarms tend to usually stay quiet about certain topics because they know that they might receive backlash. But as believers in Christ, we need to stand firm on what God says and we need to back up the Bible. 

 

 

2. 정당화하려는 특징 Justification 

미지근한 크리스천들은 그들의 죄를 정당화하려는 경향이 있는데요. 성경의 일부분만 도려 내어 자신들의 주장에 맞춰서 말씀을 왜곡하려고 합니다. 

Lukewarm Christians tend to justify their sin by taking Scripture out of context and twisting scripture to fit their narrative.

 

3. 미지근한 크리스천들은 죄를 지었을 때, 죄책감을 느끼지 않는다. A lukewarm Christian does not feel conviction when they sin.

그들은 죄짓는 것을 좋아합니다. 만약 당신이 그리스도와 진정 동행한다면, 당신은 죄를 좋아할 수 없습니다. 당신은 죄를 증오할 것입니다. 맞습니다. 우리 모두는 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못합니다. 하지만 우리는 후회하며 죄책감을 느낍니다. 결국 그 죄로부터 돌아서기 위해 노력합니다. 

They love sinning. If you're truly walking with Christ, you will not love sin. You will hate sin. And yes, we all fall short of the glory of God, but you will feel conviction and remorse. And you will be trying to turn away from that sin.

 

4. 하나님의 말씀을 읽거나 공부하지 않는다. They do not read the word of God and they do not study the word of God.

하나님과 친밀한 관계를 맺는 사람은 우리가 이 세상에 있어야 한다는 것을 압니다. 그리고 우리가 날마다 마음을 새롭게 해야 한다는 것도요. 하나님을 말씀을 받지 않고 그것에 책임지지 않는 사람들은 미지근한 크리스천일 것입니다. 

Someone who has a personal relationship with God knows that we need to be in our world. And we need to renew our minds daily. So someone who's not being accountable and getting in the word of God might be a lukewarm Christian. 

 

5. 그들에겐 성령의 열매가 없다. They do not exhibit the fruits of the Spirit.

당신이 그리스도와 동행할 때, 그분은 천천히 당신을 변화시킬 것이며, 당신은 성령의 열매를 맺기 시작할 것입니다. '사랑, 화평, 자비, 오래참음, 절제'. 따라서 만약 당신에게 이러한 성령의 열매가 하나도 없다면, 그것은 당신이 미지근한 신앙을 가졌다는 신호일 수 있습니다.  

When you walk with Christ, He will slowly transform you and He will start to give you the fruits of the Spirit which are love, peace, kindness, patience, self-control. So if you do not have any of these fruits, then this is a sign that you might be lukewarm.

 

6. 회개하지 않는다. They do not repent.

그리스도를 믿는 신자로서, 우리는 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못할 때 우리가 회개해야 함을 알고 있습니다. 따라서 회개하지 않는 사람은 주님을 두려워하지 않습니다. 

As believers in Christ, we know that even we need to repent when we fall short of God's glory. So someone who does not repent shows no fear for the Lord.

7. 착한 일을 하면 천국에 간다고 믿는다. You believe good deeds will get you into heaven.

단지 교회에 간다고해서, 착한 일을 행한다고 해서 천국에 들어가는 것이 아닙니다. 또한 그들은 죄 그 자체가 아닌 형벌을 더욱 두려워 합니다. 그들은 오직 뭔가가 필요할 때만 하나님께 나아갑니다. 도움이 되는 사람들만 사랑하는 것이죠. 

Just because someone goes to church and just because someone does good deeds does not mean that you are going to make it to the kingdom of heaven. You fear the punishment of sin more than sin itself. So you only go to God when you need something or you only love people who benefit you.

 

8. 하나님을 부끄럽게 여깁니다. You are ashamed of God.

그들은 하나님의 관계를 공개적으로 선포하지 않습니다. 성경은 우리에게 복음을 부끄러워하지 말라고 말합니다. 성경은 또한 우리가 이 땅에서 주님을 부인하면, 그분이 천국에서 우리를 부인할 것이라고 말합니다. 그러므로 당신과 하나님의 관계를 숨기지 마십시오. 나가서 복음을 전하십시오.

You do not publicly proclaim your relationship with God. The Bible tells us not to be ashamed of the Gospel. The Bible also tells us if you deny the Lord here on earth, He will deny you in heaven. So don't be secretive about your relationship with God. Go out and share the Good News.
